Legendary beer “Radomyshl” on sale all around Ukraine!
20.11.2006
Kyiv-based “Ridna Marka” Corporation has announced change of package and presentation of new beer TM “Radomyshl” earlier presented only in several oblasts of the country to the nation-wide level. Three sorts of classical barley beer TM “Radomyshl” (“Pilsen”, “Light” and “Dark”) will be produced in one-liter and two-liter PET-bottles and also for the first time in 0.5-liter plastic bottle.
According to the representatives of the corporation, the original recipe of this traditional beer was developed in the end of the 19th century by Czech brothers Ignat and Frank Albrecht. Having given a high assessment to the soft water, quality of barley and hop grown by local farmers, the brothers decided that Radomyshl was ideal for opening their own brewery in 1886.
The brothers began from brewing classical Czech Pilsen and then other popular in Europe beer - in particular Viennese, Bock-Beer, Munich. The brewery was developing fast and legends began to appear about Radomyshl beer. Soon the Czechs also began to brew own, original sorts of beer: “Ukrainian”, “Oksamytne”, “Bohdanovi Shlyakhy” (Bohdan’s Paths), “Volodymyrske Osoblyve” (Volodymyr’s Special). However, after 1917 revolution and as a result of nationalization of the brewery, all recipes were lost and the fame of Radomyshl beer began to fade.
Having decided to restore with the help of European specialists original recipes of pre-revolution Radomyshl beer, “Ridna Marka” corporation conducted full modernization of production in 2005-2006 at the brewery in Radomyshl, Zhytomyr oblast. It installed at the brewery modern equipment, which substantially increased the volumes of production and sales.
The main characteristics of the renewed beer “Radomyshl” include hop’s taste with light bitterness, bright golden color and rich foam. “Working on restoring the original Radomyshl beer, we set the task to return to the Ukrainian consumer classical taste of beer, which was brewed here before the revolution,” says Brand Manager of Beer Department of “Ridna Marka” Corporation Natalia Akhmerova. “Like 120 years ago, “Radomyshl” beer is brewed in small lots, on the basis of soft, ecologically clean water without any outside ingredients, which allows us to preserve indeed “live” and natural taste of legendary Radomyshl beer,” she says.
Introduction of TM “Radomyshl” on the national market is accompanied by increase of output volumes and alteration of the type of the bottles. Three sorts of beer will from now only be produced only in kegs and PET-bottles.
Such decision is conditioned by the fact that PET bottle is currently the most popular among the consumers – the results of the first half of 2006 show that the share of PET bottles amounts to 39% of the Ukrainian market of beer bottles. Specialists point to several competitive advantages of PET bottles, including high mechanical durability, ecological safety and durability to high and low temperatures and naturally lightness. “Ridna Marka” became the first manufacturer that offered Ukrainian consumers beer in universal, convenient for sale and use 0.5-liter plastic bottle, which weighs practically 10 times less than the glass bottle.
Starting from September this year, “Ridna Marka” Corporation, which also brews beer under TM “Weissbier Etalon” and TM “Kristall”, juices and nectars TM “Mriya” and TM “Fruit Beverage Lisova Yahoda”, is planning to sell 3 sorts of “Radomyshl” beer in PET-bottles in all regions of Ukraine.
